Meeting Hailey with Facial Infiltrating Lipomatosis in New York

Meeting Hailey (2) in New York with Koen & my parents

Read in Nederlands

Monday January 20th 2020 I got to meet Hailey (2) and her family in New York. Hailey and I were born with the same rare condition and we have the exact same hair color. It was of the few times my parents were able to join, which made it extra special.

Meeting in New York

Koen, my parents and I were visiting New York because mom and I were going to Vogue Knitting Live, an annual yarn event. Hailey and her family drove all the way to New York to meet us, which was a 2 hour drive from Connecticut.

It was very, very cold in January and we were all wrapped up in scarves and hats. We started with lunch (or in our case, late breakfast) together and strolled from Times Square to Central Park. We took some pictures together and stopped at the big M&M Store.

I really enjoyed meeting Hailey, her twin brother Ben and her parents and I hope we can meet again soon. Hailey is such a cutie with the most beautiful smile 🥰

I'm Wilma (26) and I was born with a benign tumor in my face. For 22 years I did not know what it was. In 2017 I did a second opinion and got diagnosed with Facial Infiltrating Lipomatosis; an ultra rare condition with only a few people affected world wide. On my blog I share updates about my life and take you with me on my journey to meet extended family around the globe.
